City tour Lviv
This trip is especially recommended for people who can not afford longer trips because of lack of time. This is a short but very intense trip. The program can vary depending on the age and interests of the guests. However, it is still the case that we offer a varied program within a short trip, during which you can get to know not only the city itself, but also the hinterland and enjoy the beautiful nature of a mountain region. Even the right gourmets will surely get their money’s worth – regional specialties tempt even the pampered palates. Within a very short time you will get to know people, the city and nature of the country with all contrasts and opposites.
Day 1
You are flying from Germany to Lviv, the biggest city of Western Ukraine and the cultural capital of the country. After usual formalities you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will stand by your side during the whole trip. Our bus takes you to the hotel where you can relax after the flight or go on the initial walk in Lviv city center. In the evening we meet for dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast, we will start an acquaintance with Lviv which is also called a city of lions due to the numerous statues of lions scattered around the whole old town. Each street here may tell you an intriguing history of its past and reveal the most hidden secrets of the past centuries hidden by the sleepy stone sentinels. During the tour, we explore the diversity of architectural styles of Lviv churches and courtyards, we visit Armenian and Jewish quarters, Rynok Square and famous Opera House, the main university building and go up Jura Mountain and visit St. George’s Cathedral.
Afterwards, you will enjoy the free time during which you may stroll along mysterious narrow streets, pay a visit to astonishing coffee mine or simply sit for a moment and relax with a cup of fragrant coffee.
The next highlight of our weekend is an adventurous quest around the city which will allow you not only to get acquainted with its history even closer but will actually provide you with a possibility to feel the city and the atmosphere which inhabits here.
In the evening, be prepared for the party in one of the best clubs in Lviv.
Day 3
Lviv offers an opportunity to look back at its history with a lot of nationalities contributing to the development of the city. Discovering the city center on foot, you will get acquainted with the versatility of architectural styles implemented in historical churches and houses, you will visit the Armenian and the Jewish quarters and the famous Opera House. Today you will discover the other unique places in this old city and go on a big city tour. You will scramble up a hill to the High Castle wherefrom magnificent view opens over the city. You will also visit the St. George Cathedral – marvelous architectural ensemble, whose interior is striking with its richness
and diversity of iconography. Not only should you look around the city, but also feel its atmosphere with each single step, inhale it from the stones of old buildings, from the picturesque alleys inviting you to saunter around, from the shabby time-struck romantic benches in the park, spontaneous chess sets on the alley in front of the Opera House, in the atmosphere of numerous coffee houses. In the afternoon you will be visiting Lychakiv Cemetery and find out more about the distinguished personalities who were writing the history of the city.
Day 4
Well, our program comes to its end. You take with you unforgettable impressions and the great feeling of having experienced something special. You have spent your time in Lviv eventfully and learned about its culture, traditions and nature. We hope that we have managed to persuade you to come here once more in the future.
