Day 1

You fly to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, the city you will fall in love with at once. Situated on the banks of the Dnipro River, the city of Golden Domes is famous as one of the greenest cities in the world. During our tour you will closely get acquainted with its history and contemporary life, get to know new people and feel the special atmosphere of the city which throughout its whole history has fought for its freedom.
After the usual formalities, our guide, who will accompany you during the entire trip, will welcome you at the airport. Then the bus takes us to the hotel. After check in, we start our first acquaintance
with Kyiv. During our tour, we will visit Saint Sophia Cathedral, built in the early 11th c, and which is now the part of UNESCO World Heritage List. It is famous around the world not only as a masterpiece of architecture, fresco painting and mosaic art and and which is known also as the place where the princes of Kyiv Rus have found their last rest. Then we marvel at Saint Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery the foundation of which dates back to the immemorial times of Kyiv Rus and see the entrance to the medieval city — the Golden Gate.
Finally, we walk through the Independence Square and Khreshchatyk – the main street of Kyiv, the witnesses of recent notorious events on Euromaidan.

Day 2

Today we visit the absolute highlight of Kyiv sacral life – Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the part of UNESCO World Heritage List, which is also known as Kyiv Monastery of the Caves. The monastery complex dates back to 1051 and is the preeminent centre of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity. On its territory is located the Museum of Scythian treasures, where we will get acquainted with traditions of tribes which lived here centuries ago. Moreover, today we also touch upon the tragic part of the history of Ukraine. The memorial to the victims of Holodomor (Famine) in 1932-33, a tragic symbol of the Soviet totalitarian regime, will open to you one of the most appalling pages of the Ukrainian history.
Our next spot for today is the National Museum of History of Ukraine in the Second World War. The aim of the museum is to show wars not like a great policy of fighting countries but like a personal tragedy of all people involved in it, their deep empathy, heroic deeds and tragic mistakes. The enormous exposition has more than 17 thousand exhibits that reflect the greatest military conflict of the 20th century and wars on foreign soil which followed it (e.g.
war conflict in Afghanistan). Here you will also learn the story of the epic 242-day defense of Ukrainian Thermopylae – Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport against Russian invaders.
In the evening, we take a walk through the governmental quarter.

Day 3

On this day, we visit Podil, one of the oldest neighborhoods of Kyiv, the place from which has originated the city’s trade, commerce and which is actually the place, where centuries ago three brothers Kyi, Shchek and Khoryv laid a foundation stone of the city of Golden Domes.
Later, you have a magnificent opportunity to explore Kyiv from the absolutely new side. Wonderful boat trip along the Dnipro River will give you a chance to admire the beauty of the ancient monuments of century-old Kyiv among which are Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, churches of the ancient Podil, Statue of Motherland and St. Andrew’s church, gaze upon the beauty of Dnipro flora and fauna and finally see the Kyiv Sea – large water reservoir formed in 1960-1.
