Gdansk – Kashubia- Masuria

Day 1

Your plane lands in Gdansk around midday. At the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will stand by you during the whole trip. Our comfortable bus will take you to the hotel where you can relax after the flight. Afterwards, we will explore Gdansk and will make sure that it is called the „pearl of the Baltic Sea“ not without a reason. The city center of Gdansk was almost completely destroyed in World War II under bombardment. Gdansk was completely rebuilt after the war. We go from the High Gate through the Golden Gate into the city center just like the Polish kings once did, walk along the Long Lane and the Long Market with the Neptune Fountain to Arthur’s court. You find yourself transferred into a different era of ancient times. Our sight will be also attracted by the Long Bridge over the Moltawa River. At least now it is clear that Gdansk looks back on a glorious history as Hanseatic City. Here you can also see the main landmark of the city – the Crane. Then we visit the St. Mary’s Church – the largest brick church in the world with the great views over the city. The arduous climb to the church tower rewards the traveler with the magnificent views of the city.

Day 2

Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia – these three cities are situated adjacent to one other on the Gulf of Gdansk and form the so-called Tri-City. Today we explore the Tri-City and the Peninsula Hel. In Sopot we walk along the longest pier in the Baltic Sea, visit Oliva village, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is 107m long, and thus it is the longest Cistercian church in the world. The cathedral is also known for its baroque organ. We come to enjoy an organ concert. Our next destination today is the Hel Peninsula. We pass a 34 km long peninsula with picturesque dunes and sandy beaches. On the peninsula we visit the lighthouse and the seal station of the University of Gdansk and also a resort of Hel, where have been preserved a few fishermen’s huts. Then our boat will bring us back to Gdansk.

Day 3

A unique experience awaits you also on the third day of our trip. Today we visit the Slowinski National Park that is situated two hours away from Gdansk. Since 1977, the Slowinski National Park as a Biosphere Reserve is on the List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On the Leba Bay is situated the largest shifting sand dunes area in Central Europe of over 500 ha. The highest sand dunes reach a height of 30-40 m. They move with the pace of about 10 m per year, pushing themselves into the surrounding pine forests that may be buried under the sand sometime. We will take a ride on the electric train through the part of the National Park. We will also visit the open-air museum of rural life in the village Kluki. Then you have a free time so that you can get acquainted with the park independently or enjoy a coffee in a cozy atmosphere. You can take a walk to the mountain Rowokół where earlier in the Middle Ages was the Lady Chapel and the mountain had the status of a pilgrimage site. But also the Lake Gardno, the second largest beach lake in Pomerania, invites you for a comfortable stay. In the evening, we return to Gdansk.
