Pilgrimage Armenia
Day 1
Late in the evening, your plane lands at the airport in Yerevan. After the usual formalities you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transferred by our comfortable bus to the hotel where you can relax.
Day 2
Today you get acquainted with the Armenian capital. What makes this city interesting is the fact that the inner city of Yervan was created in the likeness of the drawing board, houses resemble the old buildings and actually there is no city center in the direct sense of the word. You will see the main attractions of the city, the Republic Square, the Opera House, the Parliament, the Cascade.
In many places you will realize that you are in the oldest Christian country. Among other things, we see the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral built in 2001 for the 1700th anniversary of the Chrisianization of Armenia. In the afternoon, we visit the scientific library Matenadaran with its Museum of handwriting, which houses a magnificent collection of ancient Armenian manuscripts. Then we will visit the ruins of the Urartian Erebuni Fortress.
In the evening we try Armenian specialties.
Day 3
Right after breakfast you will drive to Echmiadzin, the seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the spiritual head of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Here you can see Zvartnots – an archaeological site from the mid-7th century and three well-known churches: Cathedral Etschmidsin, St. Gayane, St. Hripsime, Schoghakat Church and the Mother of God Church. There you also have a unique opportunity to visit the Armenian mass. In the afternoon we meet the university lecturer, scientist and theologian who will present us with an overview of past and present of religion in Armenia and then we will have discussion during which you will have a possibility to ask about things which have interested you.
